About Sheep

Many questions have arisen regarding the rather odd appearance of the animals presented here. A brief explanation follows:

Why do the animals appear to be half human?

Why do their heads look so unnatural?

Why do the animals appear to be half human?

Molly -- a cloning accident
Molly

Not so long ago, animal cloning had been an accepted form of scientific research. Despite protests from outraged animal rights groups, these experiments continued with little government regulation. But the famous "Molly accident" would change all of that. A cloning mishap occurred when human DNA was mistakenly combined with sheep DNA, producing a perfectly formed sheep with one exception -- it had human hands and feet (See photo). Corporate backers of the project tried to conceal this blunder by destroying the animal. But a brave assistant secretly smuggled Molly out of the laboratory and exposed the scandal to the World.

In spite of her instant celebrity, Molly was still considered just an animal. She was sold to a road show company and spent the next years appearing in traveling exhibitions and sideshows. But animal rights activists challenged the inhumane treatment of Molly -- claiming that her human features entitled her to civil rights protection. The Courts agreed and Molly became a free agent.

Just like ancient Homo Sapiens, over time Molly's descendants would also evolve -- developing even more humanlike characteristics. Their entire lower extremities would become completely human. They began to walk upright and quickly learned speaking skills. Now able to vocalize, it was discovered that these animals had always had very definite opinions on global issues, but were only now able to express them.

The word "Fritter" was the derogatory label of choice among bigoted humans.

But these intelligent creatures were still a minority and were treated as such by an intolerant human race. They were considered mutants (though they prefer to be called "hybrids") and faced a world of discrimination and prejudicial injustice. The word "Fritter" (short for "Freaky Critter") was the derogatory label of choice among bigoted humans.

New laws would later provide the animals equal opportunities -- guaranteeing them a college education. They became articulate speakers and more Humans began listening to their impartial and objective worldview. Today, while still a minority, their presence is tolerated by Humans -- just barely. But although having overcome so much, the road to species equality is still generations away.

In order for this unusual species to integrate with a human-dominated society, they realized they would need to adapt physically. Verbal communication would be one of their greatest challenges. Just as their human legs had enabled them to walk, reshaping their heads would make forming words much easier. To some, their heads seem abnormal -- even computer-generated in appearance. But evolving in this manner has helped them to find their own voice, and made them easier to animate.
